Google announced AI Mode advertising in 10 more countries, with Brazil, Mexico and the United Kingdom scheduled for a Q4 rollout.
Which countries receive AI Mode ads?
The announcement named 13 additional markets in two waves:
- First wave: Australia, Canada, India, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines and Singapore.
- Q4 wave: Brazil, Mexico and the United Kingdom.
Google did not publish exact launch dates for the first wave. It also gave no month or day for the three Q4 markets. The update therefore adds 13 named markets to the expansion, but does not supply a complete worldwide inventory of AI Mode ad availability.
Google first launched ads in AI Mode in May 2025, and the announcement says the company recently launched ads in AI Mode in “personal intelligence,” a surface it did not separately define.
This is a confirmed advertising-product expansion, not an announced change to organic rankings. Google disclosed no country-level adoption, ad load, pricing or revenue results for any newly named market.
What changes with U.S. multiturn ads?
Google also said it is rolling out multiturn ads in the United States within AI Mode. A Google spokesperson said: “Multiturn ads show up on responses to follow-up user queries as users engage in back and forth conversations with AI Mode.”
For U.S. advertisers, the relevant change is the placement of ads after a conversation moves beyond the opening question. Google framed AI Mode within Search’s generative AI experiences, which range from quick snapshots with AI Overviews to multi-turn conversations and comparisons.
When a search or conversation has commercial relevance, ads can appear directly within or alongside AI-generated responses. That includes follow-up questions in AI Mode. Google says every placement appears in a section clearly labeled “Sponsored” and will continue testing formats to keep ads helpful and relevant.
The confirmed feature lets an ad follow the sequence of a conversation. The announcement does not explain whether advertisers can select multiturn inventory, how the auction works, how often an ad can repeat, or how reporting attributes a click to a follow-up answer.
Those details determine whether U.S. teams can treat the format as a controllable campaign extension or a broad exposure change.
What does Google say about click-through rates?
Google said: “Click-through rates are already similar between sponsored and organic product list items within AI Mode.”
The company supplied no percentage, sample size, date range or test method for that comparison. Its statement covers product-list items, not text links or every AI Mode surface.
The accompanying commentary expressed doubt about extending the result to text links. It noted that AI Mode product results use prominent graphics, while the announcement offered no equivalent text-link data.
For product-led advertisers, the claim matters because sponsored listings and organic products appear within the same visual list. If the internal comparison holds in broader testing, Google has signaled little immediate click-through separation between those two result types. That remains a company claim, not independently published search data.
Which site types may see the largest effect?
Ecommerce retailers and other product advertisers can reach users inside graphical product lists and AI-generated answers. Publishers and content sites that depend on text-link units face a less measured proposition, because the announcement supplies no equivalent click-through benchmark for their format.
The country rollout broadens AI Mode ad reach across 13 newly named markets. The U.S. rollout adds a follow-up placement type that can follow changes in a user’s intent during a conversation.
Google disclosed no vertical-specific results. Retailers, publishers and agencies cannot yet compare the placements by sector or format.
For U.S. agencies, campaigns centered on product listings and comparison content align more directly with the disclosed format than campaigns centered on generic text links. That is a fit assessment based on Google’s placement description, not a published performance forecast.
A forum discussion on X also accompanied the announcement. The announcement did not publish a new click-through percentage, market-level result or rollout timetable beyond Q4.
The next checkpoints are concrete: first-wave launch dates, Q4 timing, external click-through data for product-list and text-link units, and whether U.S. follow-up placements expand beyond the stated rollout. Those measurements will show whether broader country access and multiturn inventory produce measurable gains rather than additional ad formats without a demonstrated advantage.
